Thank you for assisting me with lighting Sunday morning. I was accompanied by a Canon and Olympus and deeply terrified of maneuvering my way through both. But, you were very helpful and encouraging, so I thank you for that. I’m looking forward to applying your lighting tips and advice to my own creative efforts.
I hope you are well, and riding high with all your insight and color!
Hey Rick, Thank you for coming to Governor Livingston High School and sharing your knowledge and photographs with our students and faculty. We really enjoyed, seeing touching and learning about the great line of Panasonic Cameras.
You are an ambassador for your profession.
The are the BEST!

Thank you Bob! I had a great time.. I’m leaving the country tomorrow for a week. When I get back, I’ll share the photos the kids made on the cameras. You will love them!!

Hello Rick
I had to leave the class early on Sunday & I just wanted to thank you for a great class.
I actually do feel less intimidated by my camera for the first time.
I do like your work & wanted to know if I could purchase a copy of the motorcycle shot driving by the bar blown up to the same size as the pictures you had on the back wall?
Besides capturing the bald eagle shot, another favorite pastime is motorcycle adventure touring.
It is a different type of motorcycling experience that works well with photography.
This years trip is Nova Scotia and next year is Spain/Portugal. If you get a chance
check out website Globe Riders. The company was founded by a successful photographer named Heldge Peterson.
Another area I need help with is down loading photos to my laptop and editing. Does
Unique Photo offer a class for this?
Thank you
Alex Gilsenan
Hi Alex,
I’m happy you enjoyed the class. Your trips sound great. I’ve been riding since I was 16. Touring and photography are perfect together!
I’ll be happy to send you the file of the Bike at the Iron Horse Saloon. May 2nd and 3rd at Unique they’re having classes on workflow from several software companies. These classes will get you on track with downloading and editing. Be safe on your travels. Rubber side down!
Best, Rick G
Your name was listed as one of the instructors giving a workshop at Unique University. Many of us from our camera club have attended a number of courses offered by Unique Photo. Currently, I am the Program Chair for our Ridgewood Camera Club and I am looking for program speakers for our camera club for the next season (September 2015 – June 2016) and our camera club is located in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.
Ridgewood Camera Club offers our members with various activities, such as field trips, workshops, digital and print competitions and program presentations by skilled, knowledgeable photographers in the industry. We are a non-profit organization and our budget is mainly supported by membership fees, so our budget is limited in speaking fees for presenters, but we do have more than 130 members and we are one of the largest camera clubs of northern New Jersey.
If you are interested in sharing and educating other photographers, I would like to invite you to be one of our program speakers for the coming season. Our members meet on Wednesdays at 8PM and a program generally lasts about 2 hours. I can be reached by e-mail at della418@live.com or by phone at 201-967-9186. Thank you.

Hi Rick, I met you this evening at the Charter Oak Photographic Society meeting. I am the guy who worked with satellite photography. Mary and I really enjoyed your presentation and all of the information about mirrorless cameras. This was my first exposure to Lumix cameras, and they are interesting. Earlier I have had a Sony NEX-7 and Mary has a Sony RX-10, so we know a little about this new world. Actually, Mary is trying to learn the basics to handling a digital camera, she has used film in the past. Thanks again for the great meeting, and I really enjoyed talking with you. Art & Mary
Hi Art and Mary,
Thank you for the kind words. It was nice talking with you. Small world Sony sent me an NEX7 when it first came out and I took it on assignment to Bikeweek in Florida.
The cameras have improved greatly since then!! Hope to cross paths again.
Best, Rick
Hello Rick
We hope you are enjoying your visit to Fortescue. Wintertime here is quiet but come spring, our little town comes back to life with fishing and weekend residents. The marsh land turns a beautiful shade of neon green and the ospreys return to raise their next generation. On my ride into work in the morning I have counted 17 ospreys on the tops of telephone poles. They dine on the bunker fish that gather in the bay. The bald eagles are right there to try to steal their catch. I enjoy kayaking and enjoy beachcombing. I make seaglass jewelry and unique art with found objects. We will be hosting our Horsehoe Crab Festival in May and hopefully you can come back to see our community in full swing. The crabs gather on the beach the first full moon in May and lay their eggs, just in time for the migrating shorebirds including ruddy turnstones, red knots and sanderlings. Captain Jim will be fishing by then. Fortescue is called the Weakfish Capital of the world and he has been taking folks fishing most of his life. You can follow his fishing trips on Facebook. Let us know when your documentary is ready and thank you for including Fortescue in your travels.
